WCA’s Summer Camp Offerings
PA Days & Summer Camp
On P.A. (Professional Activity) Days, when there are no classes for the elementary school, Wesley Christian Academy usually offers childcare from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. It includes fun activities, lunch, and before and after school snack.
Summer camp is offered during the month of August for students in Toddler to Grade 6. Students in the Early Learning Center, 18 months to those who have completed senior kindergarten, have a variety of activities based around a theme.
For those students who have completed Grades 1-6, summer camp includes sports, arts and crafts, cooking, team challenges, swimming, guest speakers, and weekly field trips. The summer camp day offers before and after school camp care from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, with activities scheduled from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Included in the cost is before and after camp snacks, lunch and for the elementary aged campers, a t-shirt.
Students in Grades 7 and 8 are able to apply for a Counsellor in Training (CIT) position in the elementary camp in order to develop their leadership skills. They are encouraged to organize and instruct lessons, be a role model for younger campers and help serve. Being a CIT helps students develop strong communication skills, self-confidence, organizational skills, and teamwork.
