Last month, during Valentine’s week, students in grade 3B brought in something they loved and shared these precious keepsakes with their classmates as part of a Show and Tell presentation. Many of the items shared were special to the students because they had been given to them by someone they loved such as a relative or friend. Others were meaningful because they represented activities they enjoyed doing with the people they love. Many of the items were “firsts” and had been loved for a very long time. Still other objects tied in with their cultural heritage – something we also celebrated in February. Some items were dear to their hearts because they challenged them to grow as a person or represented an achievement the students were proud of accomplishing.
Parents, thank you for your input into your children’s lives. You factored prominently in the student presentations. Over and over again, the students referred to the happy memories associated with the objects they had brought in and the close tie to fun times spent with family. Keep up the great job of loving and nurturing your children!
