Today’s ELC Chapel Service – October 3, 2025

Our SK2 class led this morning’s ELC Chapel service. After the recitation of the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s prayer, Mrs. Wu led the musical worship. However, we experienced some technical difficulties with the first song, “One Way”. Despite very low volume, the students still sang and did the actions. Mrs. Wu then continued a cappella with the Jesus version of “Do the Hokey Pokey” and “Lord I Lift Your Name On High”. The children followed enthusiastically, without a sound track.

Mrs. Li shared the message this morning. She began by talking about a few things that scare her – the dark, heights and spiders. However, she reminded everyone that there is no need to be afraid, even when we think we are alone, because God is with us. Next, she had some help from her students who acted out the story of “Jesus Calms the Storm”. Students played the role of disciples, Jesus, and rolling waves. Mrs. Li even use special effects like a spray bottle for rain and a flashlight in a darkened room to represent thunder and lightening.

To summarize her recount, she reviewed that Jesus was no ordinary human being. He had power over the rain, power over the sea and power over the wind. They obeyed Him because Jesus is also God!

To conclude, one of the SK2 students prayed, acknowledging Jesus’s power and thanking Him for being with us when we are afraid.
