Our Toddler 1 class led this morning’s ELC chapel service. After the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer, Mrs. Michelle led a time of musical worship. The Toddler 1 students assembled at the front with musical instruments to dance along to “God Gave Me Jesus” and “Go Tell It On The Mountain”.
To continue with the Christmas theme, Mrs. Michelle then showed a video about the Christmas story – which started with the promises made to Abraham, transitioning to the prophecy by Isaiah about the birth of Emmanuel and the story of Mary and Joseph.
After the video, Mrs. Michelle reminded the students that Jesus is the greatest gift ever given to the world and that we are each gifts to our families. We are also wonderfully made in God’s image. She even had two volunteers go to the front and put on “gift” costumes to help create a visual reminder.
To conclude, she also encouraged them to remember when they open presents at Christmas time that they are a special gift from God and that Jesus loves them. Mrs. Michelle then prayed with a volunteer to end the service.
