Today, the PK2 class led the ELC chapel service. Ms. Lin gently assisted the class representatives in leading the pledges, O Canada and The Lord’s Prayer. The rest of the class then assembled at the front to lead a joyous time of musical worship. They sang three action filled songs – “Jambo (Hello in Swahili)”, “Our God is an Awesome God”, and “I’ve Got a River of Life”.

The message was delivered by Mrs. Brown, who presented herself in full costume as “Dr. Jesus”. She explained that doctors help and heal people by using a variety of tools. She showed the students examples from her kit – a needle, bandaid, medicine, soap, thermometer, and blood pressure gauge.

She also explained that she, as “Jesus”, helped or healed many people. They were very thankful and some even wrote “letters” of appreciation. As she read each letter, a slide of one of the PK students dressed as the author of the letter appeared on the screen. There were letters from the following people or groups:
- The Disciples – They thanked Jesus for speaking to the wind and the waves to calm the terrifying storm.
- Someone who was fed by Jesus – He thanked Jesus for providing enough food to feed 5000 people with the five loaves and two fish from a young boy.
- Bartimaeus – He thanked Jesus for restoring his sight!
- Paralyzed Man by the Pool at Bethesda – He thanked Jesus for healing him so that he could walk again.
- Woman who was sick for many years – She thanked him for healing her when she touched the edge of his garment.

What a unique and clever way to share so many Bible stories with the students about all the wonderful things that Jesus did for those who chose to have faith, trust and follow Him!
To close, Mrs. Michelle led the students in prayer. She thanked Jesus for being a healer and asked Him to give us “giant” faith as well as health and strength to the students and teachers.
