This morning, the JK2 class led the ELC chapel service. From the outset, the entire class stood at the front. Several representatives led the recitation of the pledges, singing of O Canada and reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Next, the JK2 class recited their class memory passage – the entire 23rd Psalm!

Then, the students moved into wonderful musical worship with two songs – “Oh My Shepherd” by Jana Alayra and the very popular “Lord I Lift Your Name on High.”

For the message, Mrs. Michelle focused on aspects of Psalm 23. Using four JK2 students dressed in a shepherd and three sheep costumes, she explained how God is like our shepherd. A good shepherd knows every sheep in his flock, loves them and keeps them safe. As she continued to explain what a good shepherd does, the three sheep and shepherd responded with actions. The sheep “munched” on good grass, drank cool water, and followed their shepherd wherever he led them. He also kept them safe and never left them alone.

After Mrs. Michelle helped the students visualize Psalm 23, Mrs. Seto concluded in prayer. She thanked God for always being with us and keeping us safe. She asked Him to be with us as we prepare to head into summer vacation.
