During this morning’s chapel service, Mr. Bailey kicked off our annual WCA Walkathon fundraiser with a short video. Three of our Grade 8 students produced and starred in it as part of the media component of their literacy class . Leading up to October 22nd, our students will see other promotional material created by our Grade 8 class to generate excitement and encouragement for our Cross Fit for Jesus 2026 Walkathon!
Fundraising Goal
Health, safety and security are extremely important at Wesley. As a school, we try to be proactive by performing regular maintenance, introducing new features and improvements where possible in our facility. Over the summer months, we completed a significant number of projects which included:
- Parking lot pavement repairs and addition of new speed bumps
- New countertops, sinks and faucets for four of our elementary bathrooms
- New countertops, sinks, cabinets, and washroom vanities for six of our ELC classrooms
- New hand washing station in the cafeteria
- New exterior doors for our west side entrance at the rear of the building
- Installation of new artificial turf for the ELC playground extension
- Installation of a new bridge, rope climber and surface replacement for the elementary playground
- New fencing around the rear playground, grass and pavement areas
- New desks for one of our elementary classrooms and replacement tops for desks in two additional elementary classrooms
As you can imagine, these were significant expenditures. This year, for our annual walkathon fundraiser, we are hoping to raise $75,000 to
- Help offset some of the expenses already spent on these improvements
- Purchase two new tents that are used as shelters for our Wesley Wildfire teams at sporting events
Fundraising Period:

As a not-for profit charitable organization, fundraising is a critical part of Wesley Christian Academy’s financial stability. Student tuition covers teachers’ salaries and some basic operational costs. However, maintenance, upgrades to existing equipment and resources, or their complete replacement requires significant outside funding. At Wesley, we only have one major fundraising event per year, and we are very appreciative of everyone’s collective effort in this matter.
Finally, we would like to encourage you to pray for the fundraising period and the event itself, on Thursday, October 22nd. We trust in the Lord’s provision and look forward to gathering and celebrating with our Wesley family.
