Over the past week, the grade 3A class has been learning about the Olympics! Since the Olympic Winter Games only occur every four years, it was exciting to have the opportunity to take a closer look.
In math class, the students worked in groups to solve a logic problem with an Olympic Winter Games theme.

In literacy, the students worked in pairs to read and answer questions about some of the sports at the Winter Games: ice hockey, figure skating, bobsleigh, ski jump, curling, and snowboarding.

As the class worked, Mrs. Binder helped small groups of students use the iPads to research Canadian Olympians who are currently at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

Each student created a small banner about the athlete they researched. These are hanging on the wall outside the 3A classroom. Before the students left at the end of the week, they each stood by their posters and prayed for their athletes.

We had such fun learning about the sports and athletes at the Olympic Winter Games! Please enjoy these photos and some more on our Facebook page.
Go, Canada, Go!
