Last month, our grade 7 students spearheaded the November Care & Share event for a York Region Victims Services family. During the November 24th elementary chapel service, four of the students explained what Victims Services does and shared that Wesley would be helping one of the families at Victims Services by putting together a Christmas hamper for them. This family consists of a mother and two daughters, aged 6 and 8. The family has some very basic needs as they are starting over after experiencing domestic violence. In the ELC service, Mrs. Li explained November’s Care & Share event in a very simple way to our youngest students, helping them understand that we would be helping a family in need during Christmas time.
With the $980.05 that was collected, our grade 7 students set off to Markville Mall yesterday morning to purchase the items requested by the family. As you can see from the photos, their trip was quite successful.
Thanks to your generosity, our students were able to purchase the items on the family’s wish list, including an air fryer. We pray that the family will be able to feel God’s love and generosity through each of these items. We are also very thankful that our students have been blessed with an opportunity to show love and care to one of the families in our York Region community.
