Our two Grade 8 classes walked over on two separate days this week to the Salvation Army Distribution Centre to help unpack and sort Toy Mountain donations. It was a great opportunity for our Grade 8 students to see some of the back end processes that are in place to get toys this Christmas to needy families in York Region. Who knows? Maybe they even sorted some of the toys that our Grade 6 students purchased with the October Care & Share money that were dropped off in the Toy Mountain bins at Markville Mall!
This Monday, our December 18th’s Care and Share will also be for the Salvation Army. The money raised will be donated to the Salvation Army’s Christmas assistance program as well as their special program that helps send kids to various camps in the summer.
We are so thankful for these tremendous learning opportunities to serve with humility and contribute to our community. By doing so, we are showing God’s love and grace.
