At the beginning of the spring, one of our Grade 4A students came up with the idea to clean up the school yard. Once the snow left and the grass dried up, it was decided that Earth Day would be the perfect day to do this!
In preparation for Earth Day, this student helped decorate the French “L’environnement” bulletin board by making leaves out of recycled construction paper.
For the school clean-up, she recruited two classmates and me – the supervising teacher. We set out at lunch recess. With gloves, grabbers and garbage bags, we picked up stray pieces of garbage blown onto school property, previously hidden under the snow and leaves.
Let’s give this Grade 4A student (and her two classmates) a big thumbs up for taking the initiative to care for God’s beautiful creation! Way to go!
