Today’s ELC Chapel – May 3, 2024

Our PK2 class led this morning’s chapel. After the pledges, The Lord’s Prayer and O Canada, Mrs. Goco led the praise portion of the worship service. She started with an energetic and action filled version of “Every Move I Make” – the same praise song that had been sung at the end of our elementary service this morning! She followed with an acoustic version of “Thank You Lord for Making Me”. The last song was a quieter one called “Jesus Strong and Kind”.

The speaker today was Mrs. Taylor whose message focused on being thankful. The PK class shared a Bible verse from Psalms.

Each class then sent up a representative to show something that they or their class is thankful for. Here is a list of what students chose:

  • Toddler 1: Friendship
  • Toddler 2: Family
  • PK1: Cat
  • PK2: Bible
  • JK1: Family
  • JK2: Art, book, toy
  • JK/SK: Teachers
  • SK1: Card for Mom and Dad

In addition to emphasizing that we should be thankful always, Mrs. Taylor shared the important message that God knows what is best for us. Even though our prayers may not be answered in the way that we want, we still have to give thanks and trust that God knows what is best for us and provides what we need. Mrs. Taylor then led the audience in singing “My God is Awesome”. As a closing point, Mrs. Taylor also mentioned that even if we have struggles, we still need to thank the Lord because from those difficulties, God teaches us many lessons.

Mrs. Taylor then closed in prayer, thanking God for His great love and asking Him to help us tell someone how awesome He is.
