Today’s ELC Chapel Service – April 17, 2026

This morning, our JK2 class led the ELC chapel service. Several representatives from the class led the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer. A time of joyful musical worship followed as more JK2 students went to the front to lead the actions to two energetic songs – “Oh Hallelujah” by Jana Alayra and their class favourite, “Goodbye Yesterday” by Elevation Rhythm.

With the help of a student, Mrs. Griffith then delivered a message about the Armour of God. Based on the teachings of Ephesians 6:10-18, Mrs. Griffith shared how God gives us armour to help us make good choices. It helps us tell the truth and trust in God. As she shared about each piece of armour and how we should use it, her student put on the corresponding piece to help the students visualize what she was discussing. In total, she presented the following six pieces:

  1. Belt of Truth – God helps us tell the truth and make right choices.
  2. Breastplate of Righteousness – God helps us do what is right and keep our hearts clean.
  3. Shoes of Peace – God helps us walk in peace and be kind to others.
  4. Shield of Faith – Faith means trusting in God, even when things are difficult.
  5. Helmet of Salvation – Jesus saves us and protects our minds.
  6. Sword of the Spirit (The Bible) – The Bible helps us know what is true and what is right.

After her message, she showed a short video to review and reinforce the lesson.

The audience then responded in song and sang “The Armour of God”. To conclude, Mrs. Griffith led the students in prayer. She thanked God for helping us be strong and asked that He help us to trust Him in everything that we do.
