Today’s ELC Chapel Service – February 13, 2026

The PK1 class led this morning’s ELC chapel service. After the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer, Miss Wong led a time of musical worship with three action filled songs – “Love”, “God of Love” and “When I Look Up”.

Miss Wong opened up her message time with a few questions for the students. She asked them about some of the things that they have been learning about this month – Black History, Family Day, Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day. She explained that lots of these things have a common theme of LOVE. Miss Wong then asked who we can show love to and how we can do that. Lots of hands and suggestions were given.

Next, she asked for a volunteer to go to the front to help her with a demonstration. She had clear cups with the titles of people who may be in our lives – Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Teacher and Bully. When she held the “Bully” cup, she asked if it was easy to show love to such a person. There were lots of firm “NO!!!!” responses. Miss Wong seemed to agree but explained that in Matthew 5:43-44, Jesus asked us to love our enemies. Miss Wong then asked her volunteer to “show love” to the cups by squeezing some “love” from the sponge into the cups. He did a good job.

Then, Miss Wong explained that God’s love overflows for everyone. He loves us freely. After soaking the sponge in a bucket labelled “God’s Love”, she filled each cup to the top with pink water. This was a good visual for students to process the concept. Next, Miss Wong showed a short video that explains how God loves everyone.

After the video, Mrs. Lau closed in prayer. Miss Wong then showed a video of various children’s choirs singing Bob Marley’s “One Love”.
