Today’s ELC Chapel Service – June 5, 2026

This morning, ELC students gathered in the cafeteria for a joyful chapel service. The JK students were especially excited to sit on the benches instead of their usual red mats!

The PK1 class led the pledges, the Lord’s Prayer, and O Canada. Ms. Donkor then led everyone in a beautiful call-to-worship song, Give Thanks, complete with actions, followed by the uplifting songs Every Praise and Waymaker.

Ms. Donkor began her message by asking, “What do you know about a king?” She then encouraged everyone to proudly declare, “I am a king/queen in the Kingdom of God!”

She shared the story of Josiah, the Boy King of Judea, who trusted God and prayed for wisdom despite the challenges he faced. Ms. Donkor spoke about how Josiah did not let his young age stop him from fulfilling God’s purpose and how God can use young children in powerful ways.

Through Josiah’s story, Ms. Donkor reminded the children that they are kings and queens in God’s Kingdom and can share His love through kindness and by telling others about Jesus. She connected this message to Matthew 22:37, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,” and the words, “Here I am, Lord; send me.” She also shared a bookmark given to her by one of her students featuring the title of the beloved hymn, What a Friend We Have in Jesus – a meaningful reminder that even young children can share God’s love and encourage others through simple acts of kindness.

Ms. Donkor concluded with a prayer, thanking God for His goodness and faithfulness and asking for listening ears, loving hearts, and the courage to share His love with others.

As we head into summer break, may this message remain in the hearts of our students wherever their adventures may take them. May they remember that they are loved by God, called to share His love, and can always say, “Here I am, Lord; send me.”
