The Toddler 2 class led this morning’s ELC chapel service. After representatives from the T2 class led the pledges, O Canada and The Lord’s Prayer, Miss Savoula led a time of musical worship. With enthusiastic actions, they sang “My God is So Big”, “I Will Trust You God”, and “Rise and Shine”.

Miss Savoula then shared the story of Jonah and the Great Big Fish. Using very cute props and easily understood language, Miss Savoula shared how Jonah the prophet chose not to obey God when He asked him to preach to the people of Nineveh. Jonah boarded a ship and when the opposite direction. The ship soon encountered a great storm and the captain woke up the sleeping Jonah to ask him to pray to God for help. Jonah knew that the storm was caused by his disobedience so he asked the sailors to throw him overboard to save the others. When he was cast off, a great fish swallowed him. Jonah remained in the fish for three days, praying to God for help and forgiveness. On the third day, Jonah was expelled on the beaches of Nineveh and he obeyed God. He went to the city to share the story of God’s love! After Miss Savoula’s narration, she showed a video to reinforce the story.

Then, she recapped some of the key lessons for the students
- God loves us and wants everyone to know Him
- God forgives us when we repent
- God listens to our prayers and guides us
- We cannot run away from Him
To respond to the message, Miss Savoula led the children in singing “There’s Nothing Our God Cannot Do.” She closed in prayer before the students were dismissed to end the service.
