Today’s ELC Chapel Service – October 16, 2026

This morning’s ELC chapel service was led by Mrs. Seto and representatives from the JK2 class. The service started with the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer. Mrs. Seto then read Matthew 19:13-14 as an introduction to the first song, “Jesus Loves the Little Children”. She continued the musical worship with “I Might Be Small (but my God is BIG)”. Both songs were familiar to the students and they enjoyed doing all the actions as they praised the Lord.

After the singspiration time, Mrs. Seto shared 2 Timothy 2:11 and explained that God gave us the ability to be bold, even if we are young. This led to the introduction of today’s Bible story (2Kings 5) about the little servant girl who had been a captive from Israel. She had the courage to tell her new master – Captain Naaman, who was suffering from leprosy, about God’s healing power. Naaman eventually got healed when he went to visit the prophet Elisha and followed his instructions to bathe in the Jordan River 7 times. Mrs. Seto showed the students a video about the little girl and her bravery.

Afterwards, Mrs. Seto re-emphasized the fact that young people are capable of telling others about God. She also pointed out that the little girl didn’t give up on God even though she was a captive. She still trusted in Him and shared the news about Him to her captors. Mrs. Seto also shared the verse taken from 1 Timothy 4:12 – which tells us to be an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity – despite your youth.

To conclude, Mrs. Seto led the singing of “What a Mighty God We Serve” and prayed – asking God to help us be brave and receive encouragement from the Holy Spirit to tell others about Him.
