This morning, the Toddler 2 class led the worship service. After the pledges, The Lord’s Prayer and O Canada, Ms. Wu led the singing of two songs – “Jump Into the Light” and “Jesus is the Healer”.
She also shared today’s message, using a few simple props to talk about how Jesus died to take away our sin so that we can be saved. Ms. Wu used a glass bowl to represent the world. She put some metal coins in the bowl to represent us. Then, she added some juice to represent our sin. With a simple tea light, the heat drew all the “sin” to the centre and was contained by a glass. Jesus, as the light of the world, pulled together all our sin and took it upon himself so that we might have an opportunity to have a relationship with God.
After the demonstration, Ms. Wu read a story called “Hey, Little Ant” by Hannah and Phillip Hoose. It was a simple story between a boy and an ant. The lesson was about making the right choice, despite what our friends or peers may encourage us to do.
Before the service ended, everyone sang a favourite song, “This Little Light of Mine”, which encourages all of us to shine for Jesus. Mrs. S then concluded the worship with a prayer, thanking Jesus for taking away our sins and thanking God for each of us and our families.

Over March break, the ELC students gathered in the cafeteria every Friday to listen to Bible stories/lessons. During the first week, four students in the JK/SK class led praise and worship songs accompanied by Mrs Wu on the guitar. After singing songs about children around the world, Mrs Wu talked about how God loves the little children.
During the second week, Mrs. Yu shared a classic Bible story, David and Goliath, through a dramatic monologue. Even though most of the students were already familiar with the story, they were so attentive and in awe as they listened to Mrs Yu’s dramatic presentation. Mrs Yu concluded the story that God can use us mightily no matter how small we are.
We give thanks for all the fun that we had during March Break, including our chapel time!
