Valentine’s Day at Wesley

Today is Valentine’s Day at Wesley! Students and staff were encouraged to wear red, white, pink or purple to celebrate the occasion. Some took the opportunity to wear a special outfit or accessories while others chose to do both!

Hanging in our main hallway today were a series of hearts. In preparation for Pink Shirt Day (Anti-Bullying Day) on February 28th, students were asked to write how they pledge to spread kindness and God’s love. Some classes chose to do this as a Valentine’s activity. These are now posted for all to see.

Lastly, families had an opportunity to sign up in January to send Wesley students (elementary only), teachers and staff candygrams on Valentine’s Day. Thanks to Mrs. Ma’s efficient planning / shopping / coordination and to Ms. Hoover’s Grade 7 class who put labels and boxed roughly 3000 candygrams by class, the event was a success! Each person received at least 2 candy grams! Many of the classes decorated bags for the events or were provided festive ones by their teacher. Even the office staff received candygrams!

We thank God for this opportunity to act upon our verse them – “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30. By showing love to others, we are loving God as well.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
